WHAT IS REIKI?
Discovered in 1922 by Mikao Usui, Reiki is a Japanese healing technique used for stress reduction, relaxation and healing.
Everything around us is made up of energy, or Ki that is flowing within our physical body through pathways called chakras, and meridians, as well as through our organs and tissues. When Ki flows freely, it nourishes organs and cells and leads to a healthy body and mind. However, when Ki is stagnant, or disrupted, it causes diminished functioning within one or more parts of the physical body leading to illness.
Reiki, or “universal life force energy,” is a method in which a practitioner is able to harness healing energy and pass it along to someone else using gentle touch to help the healing process. The energy passed from practitioner to client balances the chakras and releases blockages within the body that already have, or may lead to, illnesses.
TYPICAL REIKI SESSION
I will come to your home where we will start with a complete, 60 minute, Reiki treatment. Finding a place that you feel most comfortable, you can either sit in a chair or lay down on your back, fully clothed, with support as needed for your comfort (Clothing should be loose and unrestrictive and jewelry may asked to be removed).
Using gentle touch, I will work your chakras to send Ki and if desired, I may also use essential oils. Some may feel the reiki energy on a physical level as heat, coolness, pulsating or tingling while others may feel nothing at all during the session. Just as each person is different, so is each session.
After your reiki session, we will discuss your experience and address your questions.
WHAT CAN BE TREATED?
Working in harmony with other kinds of treatments, including medical and psychological care, Reiki can assist in the process of healing nearly all illnesses and injuries including: heart disease, cancer, headaches, colds, fatigue, insomnia, depression, release suppressed feelings/emotions, increase productivity, help one to feel empowered, enhance other medical treatments and more.
FEE AND LOCATION
Fee: The total fee for the service listed above is $50 for a private 60min session.
Location: As I travel to your home for the session, I am currently only available in Brooklyn and Manhattan. If you are in another location and would like a Reiki session, please send me a message in case I can accomodate you.
